Everybody please welcome Craig and Audrea Bailey to the SEGA.
Barn finds are very cool and we need them to help preserve racing history, but to just let one set and collect dust is not Craig and Audrea Bailey's idea of preserving history or enjoying the car. Taking the risk of racing one in completion is a big risk because it can't be replaced but a risk they are willing to take. more.....

70 year old Mike and wife Cathy Coger didn't have the money to go out and buy a Gasser so they home built their 1958 Morris Minor and I mean built every piece of it. Even assembled the FORD 302 engine right in their home shop. Mike and Cathy spent over 2 years building the car that will help Mike relive his dream of racing like he did in the 1960's when he raced everything from Stock eliminator to E/Gas. more....

WELCOME ANOTHER PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT THE SEGA IS ALL ABOUT
As most know the pride of the Southeast Gassers Association is the fact that about 85% of the cars in the group are home built and driver tuned. We can now add another one to the list since the 4 year project of Gordon Rundle III is finished. Gordon 43 years old from speedway Indiana started work on the 1966 Barracuda when he seen an SEGA build thread on the HAMB. More of the story......

About a year and 1/2 ago Wayne Swofford noticed an old 66 Chevy 2 that had been setting behind his building. The old car was not worth saving so he junked it 8 years ago. While looking at the old car he got to thinking about how most of his old racing friends had got involved in the crazy new deal called the Southeast Gassers Association. Before he could come to his senses he had the old car drug out and was gutting it out to make a B/Gasser.

With his dad long time racer Charlie Sr doing the engine building all engine secrets stayed within the team so they had the car to beat in 4 speed Super Stock racing. I can only try to describe the Southeast Gassers Association race that we had in Lyons Indiana this past weekend. First off we set the all time track attendance record at a track that is over 500 miles from our home base so we can only imagine what will happen at our home town races coming up later this year. Before the fans even got to the pits they felt like it was 1967 because the shuttle used by the track to transport the fans form the packed parking lot to the pit area was an old 1953 John Deer tractor pulling a wagon.
I was busy as usual but was stopped every few minutes by fans just to tell me thanks for bringing the SEGA to Indiana. As always the fans were from every where. 7 all the way from from Australia. I had 100's tell me they drove over 4 or 5 hours and one couple from Utah.
The racing was second to none as always with 64 cars making the trip. Fans were rewarded with a full day of racing with every car on the track a manual shift, every pair down the track

Knoxville Dragway is a special place for me, for it was my first experience with Southeast Gassers a few years back. Needless to say I have been addicted ever since.

t's amazing how much disliking Nascar affected my love of racing. I had stopped writing, I was letting my hatred unfold on Facebook. I also found myself no longer watching NHRA on TV. I tried to feel differently about NHRA, attended the last two 4 wide events at Charlotte, but it didn't work. Pro Stock was boring, the Pro Mods, my favorite class, had turned into the 69 Camaro division, instead of the class I once loved. NEWS FOR THE SEGA SUPER STOCK CLASS
Super Stock was officially announced this year as a new class for the 2019 Southeast Gassers Association season and it's popularity has surprised us all. With new cars being built to fit the very strict SS rules it has been getting the attention of a lot of people. Summit Racing Equipment surprised us by putting up money for the 2019 champion just a few months ago. Now Rick Varner owner of Varner Hauling & Grading has put up $200 to the winner of the SS class at our event coming up this Saturday August 31st at Motor Mile Dragway in Radford Va. It seems every day we get some sort of good news that helps the SEGA grow. We have been blessed for sure.
